O.K. so we're a family run business. What's that mean to you?

First, family members who are linked in a business venture have more to gain as a family by being good at what they do…and more to lose if they don't completely satisfy their customers.

Second, family members have experience communicating with each other, so goals, directions, instructions, and details are more efficiently conveyed and carried out.

Third, we think like a family - we know how to respect and peacefully coordinate several points of view to arrive at plans satisfactory to all concerned.

Fourth, we have a hand-picked team of skilled professionals who are now part of the family. We know each other and our moves…which means we move faster and better.

Fifth, we can yell at each other about doing better or doing more, and then have dinner together.

MEET THE FAMILY

Ken Adams began learning his trade at age twelve by working summers for his father's construction business. He took to it and showed early talent as a problem solver with a good eye for design.

Ken launched Adams Design Construction in 1982. By 1988 he had managed projects that included 25 homes built simultaneously and a number of small commercial buildouts.

To supplement his considerable field knowledge, Ken completed the University of Wisconsin Department of Engineering's Construction Field Management program in 1988. Meanwhile Adams Design Construction had developed a solid team of skilled craftworkers and began to successfully specialize in both large and small remodeling, renovating, and restoration work.

Pam Adams, Ken's partner and wife, brought to the business17 years of experience as a customer service manager for a fast-paced, international transport corporation. She knows high standards of service and effective logistics for sequencing elements of a job to keep on schedule.

But most of all Pam is the "other eye" of the design team. She works with Ken to create design options and then helps our clients make design decisions.
